Course Objectives

1. To create in the student a general appreciation of the History of Ancient Israel.  To expose students to the main pillars of Israelite Religion.
2. To equip students with analytical skills to interpret Pentateuchal traditions associated with pre-writing prophetic figures (e.g. Abraham, Moses, Samuel, Elijah and Elisha).
3. To create in the student a general appreciation of the historical environment of classical prophets. 
4. To equip students with analytical skills to interpret classical prophetic books.
5. To help students critically examine the main issues and the message of classical prophets.
