The module surveys the area of Stylistics but specifically focusing on how the techniques and insights of linguistics can be applied in the analysis and interpretation of literary texts. The module investigates the relationship between an artist’s achievements and how they are achieved through language. It studies the significances of a text(s) and the linguistic characteristics in which they are manifest. This process often implies the use of two criterions (a) a literary one and (b) a linguistic one.
