This
is a study of marriage and family therapy. It is a study of various
philosophies, traditions, and cultures that inform marriage and in the process
devise intervention strategies for recovering beleaguered marriages. The class
focuses on marriage as a divine institution and seeks to explain its meaning
and purpose in light of the Bible. After establishing the divine intentions for
marriage, the course proceeds to interrogate philosophical and cultural
standpoints that impact marriage. This is done in order to develop appropriate
responses for healing ailing marriages.
