The course will consider the corporate entity and how it operates in the business world. Students will apply a market driven theory of ethically based, strategic financial decisions. Important issues include the return and risk of the activity in which they invest the size of the investment, and the sources of financing the investment. Each decision is a part of the overall financial strategy that adds value to the shareholder. Topics include a managerial approach to financial analysis, planning, and control. Management of working capital, long-term assets, and long-term financing are also dealt with.
