EDUC 599 EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Course Synopsis
This is a course for Post graduate studies in Education. It is designed to expose the learner to educational leadership theories, principles and techniques. It is intended for students who would like to:
1. Develop an awareness of the trends and practices in the field of leadership and supervision in education in general and in science and mathematics education in particular.
2. Apply correctly the key terms, contexts, concepts, models, methods, paradigms and on-going research in the field of leadership and supervision.
3. Be equipped with principles and skills involved in planning, communicating and implementing leadership in educational institutions.
4. Acquire skills in budgeting, financial management and decision making.
5. Develop an awareness of the current trends and practices in the application of new theories of leadership and supervision in the 21 st Century.
